This cake is a real winter warmer! It has both ground ginger and stem ginger in it and is a really tasty sticky ginger cake with juicy apples and crunchy hazelnuts. Dates and walnuts feature in so many classic British recipes so I thought why not add to my popular flapjack recipes. I have made this one with Carnation caramel as I wanted a caramelised taste to enhance the dates.
