Maltesers Slice

Updated: Aug 22, 2023

I used to bake for a local market and made Mars bar cake every week which was very popular. So I decided to try something similar with my favourite maltesers as an alternative. It actually proved to be more popular than the Mars bar cake in the end!

It is Rice Krispies mixed with milk chocolate and Maltesers then covered with a layer of white chocolate.

This is a no bake recipe so very easy to prepare and kids and adults will love it!

To start line and grease a square 8” x 8” (20cm x 20cm) tin with parchment.

Put the milk chocolate, butter and golden syrup in a pan and melt on a low heat. Once melted set aside to cool slightly.

Weigh the Rice Krispies into a large bowl then roughly chop the Maltesers and add to the Rice Krispies.

Pour the cooled chocolate mixture into the bowl and mix until it’s is all coated thoroughly.

Put the mixture into the prepared tin and level.

Melt the white chocolate in a Bain Marie or in the microwave on 30 second bursts.

Pour the melted white chocolate over the top of the rice mixture and level.

Finally sprinkle with the crushed Maltesers and set aside to set in a cool place or in the fridge.

When set cut into 16 slices - this is much easier to do if it is room temperature and not straight from the fridge.

Sarah’s extra slice…….

You can top with milk or dark chocolate if you prefer.

When cutting into slices it is much easier to do if it is room temperature and not straight from the fridge.
